Much of Kara's art is about process; from the idea to the physical. In order to begin the process, Kara takes cues from nature, dream imagery, or found objects. She then works to infuse dream imagery from these cues into mixed media drawings, paintings, or sculpture. The archetypal languages of dream imagery related to the body, death, birth, and states of mind. Her paintings have qualities that are fleeting, impulsive, and immediate in an attempt to capture these elusive and reactionary states.
