The artistic quest, the desire to make something where nothing existed before, is my primary concern.

My work is based heavily on my love of drawing and is best expressed using a variety of approaches and media. Typically, I begin a work by choosing a word or phrase that intrigues me. Playing with the words and concepts generates ideas for a melange of images and approaches. I then fine-tune my ideas by drawing sketches, making order of rather incomplete, chaotic images. The final product should indicate a visual language of suggestion that I share with the viewer.

Frequently, this process leads to a series of thematic drawings and paintings with a common image or idea, allowing many options and an open-ended body of work, as well as a deeper involvement with my concept. The most valuable element of this whole procedure is my original inspiration, but the process itself is also exceptionally rewarding
