A most delicious way to embrace this life is to paint it. Exploring shapes, light, color and movement as I experience it. Everything becomes still, and, like turning a camera lens to focus, I begin to explore. I paint from the “outside in”. I paint what I see.

The celebration becomes the play with the paint itself. Brush-marks, scrapes and lines are my tools to capture color and light. I want to surprise the eye with a big reward.

Incorporating flattened perspectives, patterns and simplified shapes into my images makes the play an interpretation of an experience. Whether painting en plein air or in my studio, the celebration continues.
