at Artists on Santa Fe
DENVER, CO— Artists on Santa Fe invites the public to “Enjoy the View,” an exhibition of Lisa Calzavara’s abstract landscape paintings, on display, May 14 – June 15, 2026. The series highlights her distinct style in which she seamlessly flows disparate natural elements together through bright colors and contrast, slowly and subtlety revealing the splendor of the terrain. The show is open for visitors during regular gallery hours as listed below and during the following special events:
Opening Reception:
Third Friday, May 15, 5 – 8 p.m.
Sundays on Santa Fe Art Walk:
May 31, 12 – 4 p.m.
First Friday Art Walk:
June 5, 5 – 8 p.m.
Calzavara explains her process for creating these striking works of art:
“When I begin my projects, I focus on an emotion or overall feeling I would like to convey. I focus on high contrast and interesting light structures to develop compositions with movement. Most of the shapes are organic with lost and found edges which encourages you to use your experiences to complete the composition. I basically try to simplify the elements but still maintain the essence to allow the spirit of the painting to emerge.”
Calzavara has been creating art professionally for over 20 years. Trained in multiple mediums including oils, acrylics, encaustics and resins, she is able to design a variety of unique artwork. Her series span realism, abstraction, impressionism and surrealism. In addition to juried shows and exhibits, her work has been shown in The Colorado Gallery of the Arts, Littleton Historical Museum, The Arvada Center, Foothills Art Center, Spark Gallery, Lone Tree Arts Center, Sync Gallery, and D’art Gallery. She is currently a member of Artists on Santa Fe.
